Grave slab for Brisse Leroi in Anstaing

The grave slab for Brisse Leroi in the Catholic Church of St-Laurent von Anstaing , a French parish in the Nord department in the Hauts-de-France region , was created in the 14th century. The grave stone of bluestone from Tournai was built in 1922 as a monument historique in the list of the listed objects ( Base Palissy ) incorporated in France.

The 55 cm long and 45 cm wide grave slab depicts Brisse Leroi, pastor of Anstaing until his death in 1300, as an incised drawing . In a Gothic architectural frame, St. Laurentius presents the deceased Brisse Leroi to Our Lady with child, kneeling in front of him .

The inscription reads:

"BRISSE LE ROI CURE D'ANSTAING EN L'AN DE GRACE 1300"

(Pastor Brisse Leroi in the year of grace 1300).
