Grace Chiang

Grace Chiang , real name Grace Metzner (born July 15, 1906 on a ship heading for Japan (birth registered in Kobe , Japan ); † after 1944) was a Chinese film actress active in Germany .

Live and act

Very little is known about Grace Chiang's vita. She was born on a ship crossing to Japan. When exactly she came to Germany is currently not known. In Berlin she met the Hungarian film architect and occasional director Ernő Metzner , whom she was to marry a little later. In 1928 Chiang participated in the script for Metzner's experimental short film director Police Report Robbery and the following year received the female lead in his later silent film production Achtung! Love! Risk of death! .

As a result of the seizure of power , the Jew Metzner decided to emigrate to England . Grace Chiang-Metzner also followed her husband when he and the family (a son named Henry) traveled to New York City in early November 1935 . Resident in California since the beginning of July 1938 , Ernő Metzner continued to work in Hollywood . Grace Metzner, however, no longer appeared in front of the camera in the film city. In 1944 she became a US citizen. When Grace Chiang died is currently unknown.
