Firm history
In 1992 the Cologne office founded by Friedrich Graf von Westphalen in 1973 and the Hamburg office founded by Fritz Modest in 1948 merged to form the law firm Graf von Westphalen & Modest . In 2002 there was a further merger with the Freiburg law firm Bappert, Witz & Selbherr to form Graf von Westphalen Bappert & Modest .
In 2010, the Cologne and Freiburg offices of the firm, now trading as Graf von Westphalen , spun off as the independent law firm Friedrich Graf von Westphalen .
The firm has been operating as GvW Graf von Westphalen since 2018 . The law firm employs over 160 professionals in Berlin , Düsseldorf , Frankfurt am Main , Hamburg , Munich , Brussels , Istanbul and Shanghai .
