The Grafsee is a lake in the Pfitscher Valley in South Tyrol at 1999 m slm , approx. 500 meters above the Hatzlacke lake . If you follow hiking trail 5 from Kematen , you can hike to both lakes on foot. The “ Grubenalm ” snack station is located south below the Grafensee .
The cold lake water with water quality class I remains very fresh even on hot summer days with only 11 ° C and is therefore only conditionally recommended for swimming. Different trout do well in the lake. Rain and snowmelt feed the lake with fresh water, as it has no natural inflows and outflows. The lake got its name because, according to legend, a count turned into water.
