Graignes is a village and a former commune in the Manche department in the Normandy region of northern France . It is located between Carentan and Saint-Lô , about ten kilometers from the confluence of the Vire in the English Channel . The Battle of Graignes took place from June 10 to 12, 1944 . On February 28, 2007, Graignes merged with the municipality of Le Mesnil-Angot to Graignes-Mesnil-Angot .
Graignes has a racetrack (dirt track, harness racing).
