The Grand Aquarium de Touraine (formerly Aquarium du Val de Loire ) is a freshwater show aquarium in France in the canton of Amboise near Lussault-sur-Loire .

The Grand Aquarium de Touraine is located in the immediate vicinity of the Loire and houses 63 water basins with two million liters of water with over 12,000 fish on an area of 5,000 m².
The Grand Aquarium de Touraine also shows animal species from the rivers in France such as carp , minnows , sturgeon , pike and catfish , but also rare and tropical animals such as piranhas , sharks , seahorses , corals , barracudas , turtles , alligators and electric eels .
The aquarium was operated from 2002 to 2011 by the French amusement park chain Grévin & Cie . At the end of January 2011, the aquarium and six other leisure activities were sold by the Compagnie des Alpes (CdA) to the Looping Group amusement park chain .
