reception

Andreas Himmelstein wrote in Rock Hard magazine that the record was for those who “ suffer from stress attacks at over 60 bpm ”: “If the Swedes would step on the gas every now and then, their beard rock would be a whole lot more vital therefore. So the whole thing is a little too tough in the long run. ”He awarded six out of ten points. Allmusic's Brian O'Neill wrote that Grand Magus seemed trapped in a "time capsule," but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. The rating was three out of five stars.
