Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève

The Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève - GPHG (Eng. The Grand Prix of Geneva Watchmaking ) is a prize that has been awarded by the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH in Geneva since 2000 .

Although the price is relatively young, it is prestigious for the watch industry, as over 90% of Swiss watch and watch component manufacturers are represented in the association.

Since 2011 the event has been organized by the "Fondation du Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève", a specially created foundation. The 5 foundation members are: Republic and Canton of Geneva , The City of Geneva, The International Watch Museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds MIH , the "Laboratoire d'Horlogerie et de Microtechnique de Genève" (Timelab) and the Edipress group.

The prize is intended to give annual recognition for the art of watchmaking, the most important category being the Aiguille d'Or (German: Golden Pointer ).
