Grange Hill is a small town in western Jamaica . The city is located in County Cornwall in the Parish Westmoreland . In 2010, Grange Hill had a population of 7,198 people.

geography

Grange Hill is located on flat terrain called Deep Rural Hills , an average of 24 meters above sea level. The place is at the foothills of a forest area. Wide fields and plantations stretch south of the city. The nearest towns are Glasgow, about 8 kilometers away, in the north and Frome, southeast of Grange Hill, which is about 3 kilometers away. Litle London is about 10 kilometers southwest of the village.

Grange Hill lies on the Morgan River, a river named after the privateer Sir Henry Morgan . The local police station is also called the Morgan River Police Station, although Morgan has never been in this area.

economy

Grange Hill is known for breeding the best racehorses on the island and has a long history in this. The place is also known for its fertile soil and for producing the best harvests on the island every year. Grange Hill is on what is known as the Westmoreland Sugar Belt . The largest employer in the region is the sugar factory located three miles away in the village of Frome. Many in the city also work in tourism in the city itself or in Negril, 15 miles away .
