Grant Albrecht
Grant Albrecht (born January 29, 1981 in Red Deer ) is a Canadian luge rider .
Grant Albrecht has been sledding since 1993 and has been part of the Canadian national team since 1998. He competes in a two-seater. Initially, Mike Moffat was his partner. With him he was 13th in the Luge World Cup 2000/2001 . The 2001 Luge World Championships gave the doubles sixth place and seventh with the Canadian team. In the Olympic Games of Salt Lake City the double Albrecht / Moffat Twelfth was.
After the Olympic Games there were conversions with the Canadian doubles. Albrecht now drove with Eric Pothier , his former partner Mike Moffat with his brother, and Pothier's former partner, Chris Moffat . Albrecht / Pothier were initially the stronger double. In the post-Olympic season 2002/03 they finished ninth in the overall World Cup, in 2003/04 they were seventh and in 2004/05 eighth. At the 2003 Luge World Championships in Sigulda , they finished eleventh in doubles and eighth with the team, in 2004 they were ninth in doubles and seventh with the team , and in 2005 eleventh in doubles and sixth with the team.
