Grant Hutchinson (born November 11, 1989 in Enniskillen , Northern Ireland ) is a Northern Irish football player . He plays in the Danske Bank Premiership as a central midfielder for Dungannon Swifts FC

Career

Hutchinson is a central, creative midfielder. His style of play allows him to take advantage of the pace of the game in the majority of one-on-one situations when in possession of the ball. He is known for his ability to receive and control the ball in tight spaces. These qualities, coupled with a wide range of passes, made him recognized in Northern Ireland as one of the best young midfielders in the Dankse Bank Premier League .

Hutchinson began his career at Ballinamallard United FC and worked through the club's youth system before joining the first team in the 2005 season. During this time he won the Harry Cavan Youth Cup and was named Man of the Match in the final .

Following this success, he was selected to represent the Fermanagh County Squad at the Milk Cup international youth tournament from 2005 to 2007. Hutchinson was also called to represent his country internationally at the youth level.

He then moved to Carrick Rangers FC in 2011. Shortly thereafter, at the age of 21, he was named team captain. He played one season for the club before moving to Dungannon Swifts FC , which played in the Danske Bank Premier League .

Hutchinson has been a regular in the starting XI since joining the club. At the end of the 2013/14 season he was awarded both Player of the Season and the Fan Award for Player of the Season.
