Grassenberg is a statistical district of the university town of Marburg in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district in Hesse and, like Ockershausen and Stadtwald, belongs to the western core city of Marburg.

Grassenberg is located on the Marburg Ridge in the city center of Marburg. The state roads 3092 and L 3381 enclose the district on three sides. The Marbach district borders further to the north-west .

There are two day-care centers in the village and the Emil von Behring School , a primary, secondary and secondary school with a special level. The German Blindenstudienanstalt (blista) is located near Ketzerbach Street .
