Dani (* 1. October 1944 in Castres as Danièle Graule ) is a French actress and singer .

Career

As an actress, she became known as a partner of Marc Porel in the early 1970s with Tumuc Humac and Un officier de police sans importance . She became known worldwide in 1973 with the role of the script volunteer Liliane in François Truffaut's The American Night . Five years later, Truffaut took up the role of Liliane for his last Antoine Doinel film Love on the Run : Liliane is now the friend of Christine ( Claude Jade ) who is married to Doinel (Léaud ) and who has an affair with Antoine. Truffaut used two sequences from the American Night for the flashbacks .

Dani was for her role as senior theater concierge Claudie in a perfect place for a César as best supporting actress nomination. However, she had to admit defeat to Valérie Lemercier , who plays aspiring actress Catherine Versen in the same film .

In 1974 she was supposed to represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song La vie à 25 ans , but then could not take part because President Georges Pompidou died in the week of the competition and France's participation was canceled.
