The Great Darling Anabranch is an arm of the Darling River in the southwest of the Australian state of New South Wales .

It branches south of Menindee from today's bed of the Darling River to the west and runs west of the main river through an area of salt lakes, which it also partially flows through. About twelve kilometers west of the current confluence of the Darling River in the Murray River , the Great Darling Anabranch also flows into the Murray River.

The Darling River used to run in the bed of what is now the Great Darling Anabranch. Since the completion of the Menindee Lakes , which serve to regulate the flooding of the Darling River, water has been regularly drained from there into the Great Darling Anabranch for irrigation purposes.
