The Great Eastern Highway Bypass is a four-lane urban highway in Perth in the southwest of the Australian state of Western Australia . It connects the Great Eastern Highway in Ascot (between Perth Airport and Swan River ) with the Roe Highway in Hazelmere .

Together with the subsequent section of the Roe Highway, it forms a bypass of the historic suburbs of Guildford and Midland in northeast Perth, through which the Great Eastern Highway continues.

The Great Eastern Highway Bypass in Northam was also called the Great Eastern Highway Bypass.

history

The bypass opened on May 14, 1988 and was originally intended to be part of the planned Swan River Highway and Redcliffe-Bushmead Highway .
