Gregor Hoch

Gregor Hoch (born December 13, 1936 in Lustenau ; † July 10, 1992 in Altach ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and works manager. From 1984 to 1989 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Hoch first attended elementary school in Altach and then switched to secondary school in Hohenems . He then completed a year of practical experience at Josef Huber's Erben in Götzis and completed a commercial apprenticeship at Franz Längle in Götzis. He also worked for two years as an employee at the Feldkirch regional road construction office and worked for five years as a declarant in the Eugen Sandholzer embroidery company in Altach. He subsequently rose to head of department or operations manager. Most recently, Hoch was employed as a clothing manager at Huber Tricot.

Politics and functions

Hoch was a member of the Austrian People's Party and at the same time a member of the ÖAAB sub-organization . He also worked within the party from 1972 as deputy district party chairman of the ÖVP Feldkirch and was active as district chairman of the ÖAAB Feldkirch. At the state level, he was a member of the state party leadership in the Vorarlberg ÖVP, and he also held the function of a member of the district party leadership of the ÖVP Feldkirch. In terms of local politics, Hoch was a member of Altach's municipal council from 1965, and held this mandate until 1990. He was also Deputy Mayor of Altach from 1975 to 1990. As a member of the Feldkirch constituency, he represented the Austrian People's Party from November 6, 1984 to October 23, 1989 in the Vorarlberg state parliament. There he was also a member of the finance committee, member of the control committee, member of the energy policy committee and member of the environment committee as well as a substitute member of the culture committee and the social policy committee.

Hoch was also the country leader of the Catholic youth workers, a member of the board of the Vorarlberg regional health insurance fund, from 1984 a member of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Labor as well as a substitute member in the spatial planning advisory board and a member of the housing subsidy advisory board.

Private

Hoch married Gertrude Kreditsch from Styria in 1961 and between 1963 and 1970 she had three sons and two daughters.
