Gregor Hovemann

Gregor Hovemann (* 1971 in Duisburg ) is a German sports economist and university lecturer.

Life

Hovemann completed a sports degree at the German Sport University Cologne from 1992 , which he graduated in 1997 as a certified sports teacher. At the same time, he studied business administration at the University of Cologne with a focus on business organization, market research, marketing and tax law. He completed his studies in 1998 with a degree in business administration. At the end of 1998 he obtained a master's degree in international management within the framework of the CEMS university network . In 1995, Hovemann had made a study visit to the École des hautes études commerciales de Paris .

As early as September 1997, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Sports Sociology at the German Sport University Cologne, during which time he worked on his doctorate, which he completed in July 2003. Hovemann then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Sport Economics and Sport Management at the German Sport University Cologne until the end of 2009. Partly at the same time, namely between October and December 2009, he held a substitute professorship for sports management at the University of Leipzig . From January to September 2009 he was a full professor for sports management at the University of Leipzig, and in October 2010 he switched to the professorship for sports sociology / sports management at the Technical University of Chemnitz . In October 2012, Hovemann returned to the University of Leipzig and took up the position of professor for sports economics and sports management.

He took over the chairmanship of the working group Sportökonomie eV

Hovemann's research focuses on the areas of socio-economic analyzes of sport (especially in the professional field of sport management), financial and resource management in sport organizations, European aspects of sport management and sport system research, as well as issues of regulation in professional sport.
