The land border between North Korea and Russia is 17.3 km long. It begins at the border triangle with the People's Republic of China and ends in the east on the Pacific . The border river is the Tumen, which is up to 500 meters wide in this section shortly before it flows into the ocean .

On the Russian side is the Primorye region , the capital of which is Vladivostok . The closest Russian place to the border is the settlement of Chassan . On the North Korean side of the border is the area of ​​the port city of Rasŏn .

The border is crossed by the “Bridge of Korean-Russian Friendship” on the Chassan – Rajin railway , the northern end of which joins the Trans-Siberian Railway . There is no road connection.
