Serhij Kusmik ( Ukrainian Сергій Кузьмік ; born June 17, 1995 in Kiev ) is a Ukrainian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Donbass Donetsk in the Ukrainian ice hockey league since 2017 .

Career

Serhiy Kusmik began his career as a hockey player with HK Bilyj Bars Brovary , for whom he made his debut in the Ukrainian ice hockey league in 2010 . In 2013 he moved to HK Kremenchuk , for whom he first played in the second-rate Belarusian Wysschaja Liga and from 2014 in the Ukrainian league. In 2014/15 he also played for Platina Chisinau in Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga B , a Russian-dominated youth league . He then moved to HK Donbass Donetsk , with whom he became Ukrainian champion in 2016 . After this success he returned to Central Ukraine to HK Kremenchuk, but after only one year he left again for Donetsk. With HK Donbass he won his second Ukrainian championship in 2018.

International

In the junior division, Kusmik first played in the Division II tournament of the U18 World Cup in 2011 , when he was promoted to Division I with the Ukrainians. There he played with his team a year later . In 2013 , 2014 and 2015 he was on the ice for Ukraine at the U20 World Championships in Division I.

With the Ukrainian men's national team , he took part in the 2015 and 2017 World Championships in Division I. He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
