The Grif (P401) is a patrol boat built in 1976 , which served under three flags and is now a museum ship in Tallinn .

history

The patrol boat entered service in 1976 as a unit of Project 1400M (NATO: Zhuk-Class) for the Soviet Coast Guard .

From 1992 to 1994 it served together with the sister ship Leopard as a patrol boat for the Estonian Defense Association . In 1994 the boat was taken over by the Estonian Navy , renamed Grif and was used there until April 27, 2001.

Since July 11, 2001, the Grif has been a museum ship of the Estonian Maritime Museum and was launched for exhibition in the Tallinn seaplane airport .
