Handle Rhys Jones
Griffith "Griff" Rhys Jones (born November 16, 1953 in Cardiff ) is a British author , comedian , actor , producer and director .
Life
He starred in the BBC's satirical TV show Not the Nine O'Clock News with Rowan Atkinson , Pamela Stephenson and Mel Smith . The series ran on BBC2 from 1979 to 1982.
From 1982 to 1998 Griff Rhys Jones played together with Mel Smith in a total of 27 episodes of the comedy series Alas Smith and Jones (from 1989 only Smith and Jones ). The title was a reference to the US series aka Smith and Jones .
In Germany, the 15 episodes broadcast in some 3rd TV programs were called Auweia! Smith and Jones . One episode was 25 minutes long. The DVD box was announced by the BBC in 2005, but has not yet been released.
Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones played the leading roles in the film adaptation of the novel Puppenmord (author: Tom Sharpe ).
