Chris Ray Wilcox (born September 3, 1982 in Raleigh , North Carolina ) is a retired American basketball player who was active in the NBA from 2002 to 2013 . With a height of 2.08 meters, it was used as a power forward and center .

Career

He began his career with the Maryland Terrapins , the college team at the University of Maryland, College Park , and led them to win the NCAA championship for the first time .

In the 2002 NBA Draft , he was selected eighth by the Los Angeles Clippers . There he played until the 2005/06 season .

On February 14, 2006 he was transferred to the Seattle SuperSonics in exchange for Vladimir Radmanović . His contract was extended by three years to 2009 for $ 19.5 million in late 2006.

On February 19, 2009, he was given in exchange for Malik Rose to the New York Knicks .

On July 22, 2009, he signed a several-year contract with the Detroit Pistons .

On December 9, 2011, Wilcox signed a contract with the Boston Celtics . After being diagnosed with an enlarged aorta , he needed an operation. In order to make room in the squad, Wilcox was released from his current contract in March 2012, but offered him a new one-year contract after the operation. In his last season in the NBA, Wilcox was used in 61 games (excluding playoffs) and averaged 4.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per game.
