The Grizedale Tarn is a lake in the Lake District , Cumbria , England .
The Grizedale Tarn is located west of the Out Dubs Tarn in the Grizedale Forest and is the only natural and only named of several partly artificial lakes in this forest area. The lake has no recognizable tributary; its unnamed drain flows into the Grizedale Beck .
During World War II, the lake was used as an emergency water supply for a prisoner-of-war camp for officers located in the nearby Grizedale Hall estate.
