Groß Zecher is a district of the municipality of Seedorf in the Duchy of Lauenburg in southeastern Schleswig-Holstein .

history
Groß Zecher was first mentioned in 1194 as Scachere in the Isfried partition contract . The name is of Wendish origin. For a long time, Groß Zecher was shaped by agriculture. The place is characterized by lake, forest and agricultural areas and has a large estate with Gut Groß Zecher , which was owned by the von Witzendorff family as early as 1681 . Since 1888/89 and again from 1948 to 2006, the community belonged to the Sterley Office , which in 1971 was combined with the Gudow Office to Gudow-Sterley Office.
