The bigeye sand tiger shark ( Odontaspis noronhai ) is an insufficiently known shark from the order of the mackerel shark-like (Lamniformes) and the family of sand sharks (Odontaspididae). The shark lives pelagically at depths between 600 and 1000 meters above continental slopes and shelf areas . So far it has been caught in the western Atlantic near Brazil , in the eastern Atlantic near Madeira and in the central Pacific near Hawaii . A possible occurrence in the Seychelles is uncertain.

Male bigeye sand tiger sharks reach a maximum length of 3.60 meters, female 3.26 meters. The average height is likely to be 2.5 to 3.0 meters. The body color is uniformly brown, the outer edges of the fins , with the exception of the pectoral fins , are dark.
