The large green Reneklode is a variety of the Reneklode ( Prunus domestica subsp. Rotunda ).

The round, green-yellow and frosted fruits, which ripen from mid-August to early September, reach a size of approx. 4.5 cm. The yellow pulp is sweet and tasty. The fruits - which are considered the best of all Renekloden - are either consumed fresh, preserved or cooked into compote .

The Great Green Reneklode is a very old variety, the exact origin and origin of which is unknown - Syria or Armenia are assumed to be the origin areas - the variety has been known in France since the middle of the 15th century .

The self-sterile tree grows moderately and forms wide crowns.

The variety is very widespread, mostly grown in home gardens, but is often found directly marketed in markets.

From a seedling of the Great Green Reneklode, ' Graf Althanns Reneklode ' was created between 1850 and 1860 .
