Oullins Reneklode

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Oullins Reneklode (originally Reineclaude d'Oullins ) is a variety of Reneklode ( Prunus domestica subsp. Rotunda ). It was found around 1800 on an estate in Coligny in France and was later distributed by the Massot tree nursery in Oullins (southwest of Lyon ).

The self-fertile tree is vigorous. The oval, yellow and large fruits, which ripen in August, are sweet and tasty; the pulp can be easily removed from the stone.

The fruits are either eaten fresh, preserved or cooked into compote .
