The Great Bear River ( English Great Bear River ; French Grande rivière de l'Ours ; Slavey Sahtúdé ) is a 113 kilometer long river in the Canadian area of ​​the Northwest Territories .

The river begins as the main drainage of the Great Bear Lake near the village of Déline . From there the river runs through the marshland to the west and flows into the Mackenzie River at Tulita .

During the summer the river is ice-free for four months and during this time it is an important means of transport within the Northwest Territories. The river has an irregular meander shape and an average depth of six meters.
