Great stone graves near Rahden

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The megalithic graves near Rahden were two megalithic tombs of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Rahden in the Minden-Lübbecke district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). They were destroyed in the 18th or early 19th century. The exact locations of the two graves are unknown, the field name Hünenkamp has been passed down for only one . There were originally at least two other large stone graves in the vicinity: the large stone grave Kleinendorf and the large stone grave Varl . The area around Rahden was visited in 1807 by Georg zu Münster , who discovered that no superficially recognizable remains of the two graves near Rahden were preserved. No information is available on the dimensions and orientation of the facilities or the exact type of grave.
