Great stone graves near Wellendorf
The megalithic graves near Wellendorf were two or three megalithic tombs of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Wellendorf , a district of Suhlendorf in the Uelzen district ( Lower Saxony ). They were destroyed in the 19th century. They were located south of the village, two of which were close to each other, while the third was a little east of it. The graves were documented in the 1840s by Georg Otto Carl von Estorff , but not described in detail. No information is available on the orientation, dimensions and type of grave. In the case of one of the complexes located close to each other, it is not certain whether it was really a large stone grave, von Estorff thought it was more of a thing place . The easternmost grave was already destroyed when von Estorff was taken. The card signature only shows that it had a round pile of hills.
