The large stone grave Meischenstorf is a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Meischenstorf , a district of Wangels in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein . It bears the Sprockhoff number 275.

location

The grave is located about 500 m northwest of Meischenstorf on the edge of a narrow forest. There are several other large stone graves in the vicinity : 530 m north-northeast is the large stone grave Grammdorf 1 , 2.4 km west-northwest the large stone grave Hansühn 2 , 2.4 km west the large stone grave Testorf and 2.5 km east-northeast the large stone grave Grammdorf 2 .

description

The complex has a burial chamber that was originally hilly and oriented northeast-southwest . It is a passage grave of the Holstein Chamber subtype with a length of 7 m and a width of 1.5 m. The chamber originally had five pairs of wall stones on the long sides, one end stone each on the narrow sides and five cap stones. Four stones are still preserved on the north-western long side. On the south-eastern long side there are still three stones in situ , one or two more stones seem to have been displaced. The closing stones are missing. The capstones are all still preserved, but none of them are left on the wall stones. The access to the chamber was presumably between the second and third stone on the southeast side, seen from the northeast. Upstream gangways have not been preserved. The corridor should have had a width of about 0.6 m.
