The Großsteingrab Süderholm (also known as Großsteingrab Heide LA 1 ) is a megalithic grave of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Süderholm-Bennewohld , a district of Heide in the district of Dithmarschen ( Schleswig-Holstein ). It bears the Sprockhoff number 140.
location
The grave is located east of Süderholm and southwest of Bennewohld in a wooded area. No other large stone graves are known from the immediate vicinity.
description
The system has a round mound with a diameter of about 10 m. There is a northeast-southwest oriented burial chamber , which is probably an enlarged dolmen . There are only three stones left. The north-eastern end stone is in situ , two wall stones on the long sides have overturned. Based on the existing pit, the length of the chamber can be estimated at about 2.7 m and its width at about 1 m. In the chamber gap pieces were granite - boulders , plates of the gusset masonry and burnt flint , probably, found off the floor pavement.
