Sprockhoff no. 176

The large stone grave Seedorf is a megalithic burial complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Seedorf , a district of Borgdorf-Seedorf in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . It bears the Sprockhoff number 176.

location

The grave is located east of Borgdorf-Seedorf on a field. 140 m north-northeast is a burial mound, 2.3 km north-west is the large stone grave Eisendorf .

description

The complex has an oval, northwest-southeast oriented mound with a length of 20 m and a width of 15 m. A stone enclosure could not be found. On the northeastern edge of the hill, the northeast-southwest oriented burial chamber is still deep in the ground. It is probably an enlarged dolmen . Ernst Sprockhoff estimated the length of the chamber at a maximum of 2.7 m and the width at 1.3 m. You can see two wall stones on the north-western and one wall stone on the south-eastern long side, as well as two cap stones, of which the northeastern one is shifted. The southwest capstone has a length of 2 m, a width of 1.6 m and a thickness of 1.1 m. The southwestern capstone can only be guessed at.
