The large stone grave Sierhagen 2 is a megalithic grave system of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Sierhagen , a district of Altenkrempe in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein . It bears the Sprockhoff number 284.

location

The grave is located 2 km south-southwest of Sierhagen in a field. The large stone grave Sierhagen 1 is located 3.3 km north-northeast .

description

The complex has an east-west oriented megalithic bed with a length of probably 24 m and a width of 7 m. Twelve stones on the north and nine on the southern long side and three on the eastern narrow side are still preserved from the enclosure. The west end of the bed is largely destroyed. The assignment of a larger stone lying here is not certain. Many reading stones were also deposited here. The burial chamber is roughly in the middle of the bed . It is an east-west oriented passage grave of the Holstein chamber subtype with a length of about 6 m and a width of 1.3 m. The chamber originally had five pairs of wall stones on the long sides and one end stone each on the narrow sides. The two westernmost stones on the north side, the westernmost stone on the south side and the western end stone are missing, as are all the cap stones. The preserved stones are all still in situ . The entrance to the chamber is located between the second and third wall stones on the south side, seen from the east. A corridor with a pair of wall stones is in front of it.
