from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large stone grave Stinstedt was a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Stinstedt , a district of the municipality of Loxstedt in the district of Cuxhaven ( Lower Saxony ). It was destroyed in the 19th century. Its exact location is not known. The grave had a rectangular barren bed , from the enclosure of which several stones had already been removed in 1841. Only the extraordinarily large capstone of the burial chamber was described. It was 15 feet (about 4.5 m) long , 11 feet (about 3.3 m) wide, and 3 feet (0.9 m) thick. The exact type of grave can no longer be determined.
