Stinstedt ( Low German Stinst ) is a village in the unitary community Loxstedt in the Lower Saxony district of Cuxhaven .

Stinstedt is located southeast of the independent city ​​of Bremerhaven on the municipality border with the unified municipality of Beverstedt , which runs along the stream of the same name.

history

Stinstedt was originally laid out as a heap village in 1232 . Around 1500 the village was parish in the parish of Beverstedt and belonged to the Beverstedt Börde. Furthermore, an affiliation to the aristocratic court Beverstedt and Amt Beverstedt (1851-1859) can be proven. During the French era , the village was assigned to the Bexhövede commune in the canton of Bremerlehe . From 1859 to 1885 Stinstedt belonged to the Lehe office and then to the Geestemünde and Wesermünde districts . In 1876 the district of Stinstedt was formed.

A village renewal program was completed a few years ago.

Incorporations

From 1971 to 1974 the place was a member municipality of the Loxstedt joint municipality .

With the territorial reform in Lower Saxony , which came into force on March 1, 1974, Stinstedt lost its political independence and became a place of the new Loxstedt community, since according to the specifications of the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior, large community communities in the vicinity of large cities were required.

The Stinstedt municipal coat of arms was designed by the heraldist and coat of arms painter Albert de Badrihaye , who designed around 80 coats of arms in the Cuxhaven district.

 Blazon : "In silver, a green oak with seven golden acorns growing out of a red , covered with a silver barrow (stone table) shield base ."
Justification of the coat of arms: The barrow indicates the interpretation of the place name as a stone site. The oak is a symbol of the peasantry, and the seven acorns remind us that in 1951, when the coat of arms was adopted, the council consisted of seven people.
