Maihausen ( Low German Maihusen ) belongs to the unified community Loxstedt in the Lower Saxony district of Cuxhaven .

The smallest village in the municipality is characterized by agriculture and is surrounded by marshland and the towns of Wiemsdorf , Büttel and Holte . Maihausen lies within the district Landwürden and belonged to the municipality of the same name in the Wesermarsch district until the territorial reform in 1974 . In addition to the nucleus, the former comprised peasantry and parts of Speckje at the former Oldenburg border. Speckje is now part of the village of Holte.
