Myron W. Fohr (born June 17, 1912 in Milwaukee ( Wisconsin ), USA ; † January 14, 1994 there ) was an American racing driver .

Career

Fohr competed in a total of 25 Champ Car races between 1947 and 1951 , of which he won four and was on the podium in five others. In 1948 and 1949 he finished second in the national championship.

When the 500 Miles of Indianapolis , he was twice at the start. In 1949 he took fourth place. In 1950 this race was one of the Formula 1 drivers' championships, so Fohr also had a start in a world championship run. On a Marchese - Offenhauser and reached eleventh place, five laps behind the winner Johnnie Parsons .

In 1994 he died of complications from diabetes mellitus at the age of 81 .
