Johnnie Parsons (born July 4, 1918 in Los Angeles , † September 8, 1984 in Van Nuys , California ) was an American racing driver .

Career

Parsons started ten times at the Indianapolis 500 , his victory in 1950 also included him in the list of winners of the Formula 1 World Championship , as this race was part of the World Cup from 1950 to 1960. Other good placements were second place in 1949 and fourth place in 1956 . In 1949 he was champion of the AAA National Drivers Championship , the previous series of the Champ Car Championship.
