description

Finds from the great stone grave

The facility is in a very bad state of preservation. It has a north-west-south-east oriented burial chamber 1.6 m wide and about 7 m long. Only the north-western end of it is preserved. The end stone and the two adjacent wall stones on the long sides are still in situ . A capstone rests on them. It is unclear whether an isolated stone in the southeast also belongs to the burial chamber.

An excavation took place in 1979. In this grave goods were the Beaker culture such as a flint -Beil and cross-edged arrowheads to light, but also finds like a stone bracer the subsequent use of the grave by members of the, late Neolithic Beaker Culture show (2600-2200 v. Chr.). After the excavation, an impression of the burial chamber was made and exhibited in the Lower Saxony State Museum in Hanover .
