The large stone grave in the great sand (also called the large stone grave of Herßum) is a Neolithic passage grave with the Sprockhoff no. 867. It originated between 3500 and 2800 BC. And is a megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK).

location

The plant is located about 1.4 kilometers north of the village of Holte-Lastrup in a forest west of Herßum, which belongs to Lähden in the municipality of Herzlake in the Emsland district in Lower Saxony .

description

The east-west facing chamber is almost completely preserved. It measures about 15 meters in length and has a width of 2.0 meters in the middle, which tapers to 1.5 meters at both ends. The chamber still has all twelve capstones. Some of the stones that still exist show an oval border with a length of 20 meters and a width of seven meters.
