Ground Control was an Italian thrash metal band from Verona , which was founded in 1996 under the name Deluge and disbanded around 2010.
history
The band was founded in May 1996 under the name Deluge by guitarists Alessio Garavello and Fabio Cavallaro, and in the early 1980s they covered songs by Metallica and Megadeth . From 1996 to 2002 the line-up changed several times before the group was renamed Ground Control in the summer of 2002. Towards the end of the year she started writing her own songs.
In November 2004 the demo demo 2k5 was recorded in the Remaster Studio in Vicenza . In October 2005, she went to the same studio to record the debut album Insanity , which contains ten songs. The album was released in 2006 on Punishment 18 Records . In November 2007, Garavello left the cast for personal reasons. The search for a suitable replacement then began. In July 2008 the new line-up was established with Marco Vighini as singer, Fabio Cavallaro and Giovanni Scardoni as guitarists, Giovanni Raddi as bassist and Fabio Perini as drummer. After a few concerts, the band started writing new songs. This resulted in the album Dragged , which was also recorded in the Remaster Studio and was released in 2010, like the previous album , on Punishment 18 Records. Then it came to a dissolution.
style
For Raininterror from schwermetall.ch Insanity offered solid Thrash Metal, although he was disturbed by the vocals. This consists of a “high-pitched screeching”, whereby Garavello “strongly reminds of Joey Belladonna ( anthrax ) with his cheeky voice , but after someone kicked him in the balls really badly ”. The music varies "between poser metal , hardcore shouts and powerful speed guitar leads". Lord Obirah from heavyhardes.de wrote in his review of Dragged that the album tended against Thrash Metal, but also against Heavy Metal and somewhat against Hard Rock . The music sounds varied and sounds a lot like Metallica and Testament , but also a bit like Pantera .
