Group material

Group Material is an artists association founded in 1979 in New York . Members are Doug Ashford (* 1958), Julie Ault (* 1957), Tim Rollins (* 1955), Félix González-Torres , Jochen Klein and others.

Installations are realized in which art objects of mass production in the consumer industry are contrasted. The group has realized numerous exhibitions and public projects dealing with the relationship between politics and aesthetics .
