The Crone mine was a zinc and lead ore mine near Burbach in the southern Siegerland . It was in the Buchhellertal between Burbach and Lippe on the rear slope of the Nenkersberg.

In the course of a copper ore discovery in the early 1840s, dozens of pits were muted. Among them is the Crone mine , but not on copper. But it was sold in 1851. At that time, 52 workers were working in the pit.

In the 1850s, an hereditary tunnel was built, which brought 43 m depth underground. Civil engineering began in 1857. A shaft was sunk at 100 m. Up to 180 staff members worked in the mine until it was closed in 1867. After the closure, the Peterszeche took over the mine and continued to build on the Croner gangway.

The middle crone was 1.5–4 m thick.

In the summer of 1910, the Peterszeche was again overtaken by the Kuhmichel trade from Eiserfeld . Iron ore was mined in the Karlssegen and Crone tunnels .

  • 1865: 098 t of zinc blende
  • 1866: 080 tons of zinc blende
  • 1867: 071 t of zinc blende

In addition to zinc, smaller amounts of lead ore were extracted. In 1862, for example, this was around 35 t.
