The Volbach mine is a former iron mine in the Bensberg ore district in Bergisch Gladbach . The site belongs to the Hand district . Due to a Mutungssgesuchs of 13 February 1848 the name of Theodor which took place ceremony of the mining area on January 15, 1851 the name Volbach on bog iron . The mine field was in the vicinity of Diepeschrath . At the northern end of the extension of Heinrich-Strünker-Straße, which has been built with grass pavers, a hiking trail goes west into the forest. South of the path was the discovery point of the Volbach mine field. Relics can no longer be found. Nothing is known about the operation of the mine.
