Gruber + Kleine-Kraneburg was founded in 1995 by the architects Martin Gruber (* 1963) and Helmut Kleine-Kraneburg (* 1961). Both founders were previously employees in Oswald Mathias Ungers' office in Frankfurt am Main. Gruber + Kleine-Kraneburg's areas of responsibility include a. Skyscrapers and administration buildings, but also residential buildings. Based on geometric shapes and proportions determined by human dimensions, the work of the office is based on the context and functionality of the location with great attention to materials, structure and lighting. So in their severity they always appear emotional.

Well-known buildings include the Federal President's Office (1998) in Berlin, the Main Forum (2003), the Leica World (2014) and the Taunusturm (2014) in Frankfurt am Main.

Since its inception, the office has won competitions and prizes.
