Grundschänke
The Grundschänke was a restaurant property at the end of the Lößnitzgrund , in Lößnitzgrundstraße 8 in the Saxon town of Radebeul, directly on Hörningplatz . The building erected in 1875/76 was demolished in 2000 and houses were built on the site.
The Grundschänke was taken over in 1950 by the People's Solidarity, which placed Markos children there; On the occasion of the fifth party congress of the SED in 1958, it was reopened as the municipal cultural center Haus “Völkerfreundschaft” (popularly known as “Völkerschänke”). In 1960 it became the property of the Dresden-Land district , which ran the Völkerfreundschaft district culture house there for the next three decades . A side wing served as a school canteen.
In the 1980s, "household balls" were held there.
