The club was founded in 1908 as a popular sports club with a focus on skiing and bandy . Today, however, there is also a department for orienteering and one for soccer .
Bandy
The bandy department was created when the club was founded in 1908. The bandy department appears under the name Grycksbo IF BK Bandy and plays its games on Tansvallen . In the 1963/64 season Grycksbo played in the highest Swedish bandy league. However, the club currently only plays in the 2nd division.

Skiing
Skiing was very important to the club from the very beginning. Due to the proximity to the ski jumping center in Falun , mainly the Nordic skiing sports such as ski jumping , cross-country skiing and Nordic combined were represented in the club. Between 1932 and 1941 the club was Swedish team champions in Nordic combined.
