history

After completing his engineering studies and finishing his career as a basketball Bundesliga player, Günter Kollmann began designing, manufacturing and trading outerwear textiles in 1971 . In the initial phase, it could rely on the structures of parental support textile plant, which at the location Quakenbrück in Artland located, seamstresses employed on a subcontract basis and especially anoraks let sew. The company had its own textile cutting shop and was thus able to sew size- accurate ready-made series . There was also its own shop in Quakenbrück.

The business concept of the 'young entrepreneur' initially envisaged the production of children's clothing. The demands of the market then made it appear reasonable to abandon the restriction to this particular product segment. On the basis of a range that meets the requirements , Kollmann succeeded in concluding contractual agreements with customers in the stationary and mail order business , which enabled him to outsource the production of the ordered textile products to so-called interim masters abroad due to the high number of items to be delivered . This was the only way to meet the customers' price expectations. The main success factor for the further development of the entrepreneurial activity were satisfied customers from the group of 'large volume buyers'. They were interested in a stable, regulated and always extremely reliable supplier relationship. The high growth rates in sales of fashionable outerwear in the retail and mail order business had a positive effect on the company's development, as did the development of new distribution channels in retail.

The entrepreneurial activity of Kollmann at the time could be traced back to the manual activities of a hat, cap and fur manufacture , which was founded in 1838. It was taken over by Johann Christian Kollmann, Günter Kollmann's grandfather. The name logo in the company 'JCK Holding' was formed from the initials of the name Johann Christian Kollmann . The wide range of business activities in the 1970s and 1980s, a continuous growth, showed that enabled a powerful group of independently operating companies, each to specific markets, at first mainly to segments of the branch Textile / Clothing ( DOB, KOB, menswear etc . ) aligned, built up and developed in a targeted manner. The preservation of traditional craftsmanship and the associated quality awareness as well as creative commitment, combined with the willingness to assert innovations, determined the entrepreneurial activity and has always ensured success since then. Individual companies founded by Günter Kollmann had the ability to supply discounters with promotional goods, which they then sold under their own names.

JCK Holding was founded in 1992 as a limited partnership. The group of shareholders includes institutional holding companies, each with holdings in the low single-digit percentage range.
