Guido Alberti

Guido Alberti (born April 20, 1909 in Benevento , † August 3, 1996 in Rome ) was an Italian industrialist and actor .

Life

Alberti was co-owner of the Strega company founded by his father Ugo Alberti , which sells liqueurs. In 1947, together with Goffredo and Maria Bellonci, he founded the “ Premio Strega ” literary prize , which is awarded annually to the best Italian author of fictional prose. In 1955 Alberti played a small role in Gli innamorati by Mauro Bolognini . Federico Fellini then cast him in eight and a half in 1963 and, thanks to his impressive presence, started a remarkable career as a character actor in numerous movies, including numerous crime stories , but also with Francesco Rosi , Pier Paolo Pasolini and Roman Polański at the age of 53 . He was also seen in several television roles in the 1960s, such as Ugo Gregoretti's Il circolo Pickwick or Leonardo Corteses Luisa Sanfelice .

Alberti had been married to Lucia Alberti of German descent, who had become popular as an astrologer and journalist, since 1953 .
